In Anne Arundel County, Maryland, we have the strange report of a woman and her wallaby. Apparently a wallaby named Kanga escaped from its nearby conservation center and has been craftily living in the Severn woods for the last 5 years. Kanga has made a friend, Jean, who lives near the woods. She has been feeding it a special diet including cornbread and kangaroo chow that she must have ordered online -- I mean where would one find wallaby chow around here? Jean refers to Hoppy as "my baby". Kanga's pretty smart and has so far eluded capture.
The Washington Post picture has a live trap that looks a lot like Blindie's except it's a lot bigger. I feel for her. Anyway, for those who miss Project Feral, I promise to keep you posted on Kanga/Hoppy and Jean.
