So I just ordered the tai chi sword above. It got a good review from a buyer who complimented its weight and balance. Some of the collapsible swords had scary demon faces on them or ridiculous faux Chinese yin-yang and other symbols. Not very tai-chi. This one is quite simple and I like that. I can use it folded up inside and also take it on the road.
I was talking to my friend Ben about my search for one. He also studies tai chi sword and teaches tai chi chuan. I told him how it's supposed to open "with the flick of your wrist." He was like "wow, like a switchblade!" Um, yeah, sort of like that. That might make a good name for it, actually: Switch. We'll see once it gets here. Ben was also like -- "you can take it anywhere with you. Might add a new dimension to meetings." Ha. Perhaps. Hmmm.
Handbags are a little larger these days in terms of the latest fashions. I can carry my tai chi sword in a new convenient purse-size, like perfume! After all, I'm a girl on the go.
It goes from 10in to 31in. That's smallish for a sword -- travel-size -- but I'm kinda small so hopefully it should be a good size for me. I think it's about the size of my current perfectly petite and PinkThunder-sized sword, the Lion. It doesn't come with a tassel, but that's ok. I know where I can probably get one in Chinatown. I can't wait til it gets here!!!
Nice to meet you...
May I ask your favor..
I want to buy a extendable sword like what you buy.
How can I do that?
Thank you...

Hey Pink Thunder:
I like your site, it's classy, but yet funny.
I've been told that the proper size for a jian is, slightly bellow ones belly buton.
Keep them tassles flying.

Could you send a link please to the web site where one can find such a sword. It looks just like what I am looking for myself (thanks for posting!).
Has it lived up to expectations?
Thanks!
